“Mud Batik”—The traditional art using mud as resist, dyed with Indigo & Natural Dyes.

Centuries ago “Mud” and different types of natural beeswax, gums & resins was used as resists by artists to create patterns  in dyeing & printing to color and decorate cloth using natural dyes which today has been replaced with wax & chemical resists.

To keep this tradition alive in generations to come, effort from the industry artists is imperative to popularize and preserve this ancient art of mud-batik, with natural dyes.
